Cheltenham Borough Council are an ambitious and forward-thinking council committed to making Cheltenham a better place to live and work. Their aim is to be an employer of choice where everyone is treated fairly and feels valued and respected.  

Cheltenham Borough Council struggled with low visibility on job adverts and difficulty attracting quality candidates. Their limited reach, primarily through Indeed and their own careers site, left several roles unfilled, including hard-to-fill positions like Civil Enforcement Officer and Business Initiative Manager. 

Objectives 

Hiring Wizard’s objective was to enhance Cheltenham Borough Council’s recruitment strategy by expanding advert reach and optimising their Employer Value Proposition (EVP). The goal was to attract top-quality candidates, reduce time-to-hire and cost-per-hire, and improve overall recruitment effectiveness.

We partnered with Cheltenham Borough Council to increase visibility across major and industry-specific job boards, boosting their reach. We also focused on refining job titles for better searchability. Furthermore, by creating a dedicated company page across the major job boards, this has helped to promote their EVP and employer brand, highlighting workplace benefits and values to attract the right candidates.
